About Interstate
Interstate Custom Kitchen & Bath is a family-owned design center and remodeling company in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Founded in 1986 and run today by Joe and Sheena Yiznitsky, we design and build kitchens and baths for homeowners across Western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut.
Interstate is run by Joe and Sheena Yiznitsky. Joe is the lead designer and project manager: he draws the plans, prices the whole job before it starts, and is the person on site making sure it finishes the way the drawings said it would. Sheena runs the showroom and purchasing, and works with clients on every selection from door style to drawer pull. If you have read our reviews, they are the Joe and Sheena people are writing about.
They are the second generation to run the company. Joe's parents, Jim and Darlene Yiznitsky, founded Interstate in 1986 after a lifetime in the residential remodeling trade, and the family's history of skilled carpenters now spans three generations. The standard they set has not changed: craftsmanship, customer service, and attention to detail on every job. We are registered, licensed, and insured in both Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Our goal is to exceed your expectations in product knowledge, design ability, project management, and quality of installation. Whether it is a countertop and backsplash, cabinet refacing, or a complete new kitchen or bath, we coordinate the entire project from concept to clean-up. We also take on closet systems, laundry rooms, mud rooms, libraries, and bar areas.

Involvement in the immediate and extended community matters to us. We have sponsored West Springfield Park and Recreation sports since 1995. When the 2011 tornado devastated Western Massachusetts, Interstate closed its offices, put its trucks and equipment to work, and paid its employees to help with the cleanup.
We make regular annual donations to the Chicopee Fire Department and the Massachusetts State Police, and we support several international missionaries.

Joe and his team recently finished overhauling our bathroom, utility room, and replacing flooring in our living room. Everyone at Interstate was very knowledgeable, the contractors were courteous and easy to work with, and the project was completed within the contracted timeline.
Our dining room project is a big success. The workmanship is beautiful and practical, and the lighting selection makes the whole cabinet area shine. This is our second experience with Interstate. Our first, a kitchen remodel 15 years ago, was just as satisfying.
My new granite counter project, start to finish, was done with every attention to detail. Joe kept the communications going and always assured me my project would continue. The granite counters and farmer's sink are beautiful.
